DOING SOME MORE
I have been teaching at The Creative School at Toronto Metropolitan University for over a decade in a variety of subject areas. I am a believer in practise based learning, and work hard to make sure that students internalize knowing by doing.
Recent courses I have developed and/or taught include:
Project Management for Graphic Communications
In large interdisciplinary teams, students explore relevant topics in the graphic arts and share what they learn by blogging, engaging in social media and hosting community webinars. Practical project management skills are a focus of this experience.
Magazine Production and Publishing
Students conceptualize and design niche magazine publications for print and digital media. Design outputs include media kits, magazine covers, interactive magazines, and finished print publications.
Design and Layout
Students conceptualize and develop branding collateral for events, experiences and products. The focus of the course is to understand how to use design theory together with industry standard design software to produce work that is strong technically and conceptually.
